The Google Whisperer’s Roadmap to Google Analytics 4: Q3 2022

Well friends, the time is here. We’ve been on this journey of Google Analytics 4 since its announcement in October 2020, and now the countdown starts. We all have one year to get Google Analytics 4 set up, working on your website, and all the data flowing.

The good news: the Google Whisperer is here to help guide you through all of this. Over the next year, we’ll have all the resources you need to make sure you are set up for data success. So be sure to sign up to be notified of our updates to this series, designed to make sure you’re ahead of the game next July.

Over the past few months, we’ve walked through various aspects of GA4. With the announcement that Google Universal Analytics (UA) will no longer process new data as of July 1st 2023, now is the time to ensure that you have your GA4 property set up. Collecting data now means you’ll be able to make month-over-month and year-over-year comparisons when Google sunsets data collection in UA.

There are four main steps that we recommend you take right now to give you the most complete view into your data:

  1. Create a GA4 property
  2. Create Conversion Goals
  3. Create Custom Reports
  4. Connect Search Console

Don’t forget to fill out the form below to download this quarter’s checklist that will help you walk through the above steps. Once you’ve completed these steps, everything is in place to begin using GA4.
